หลัง Xbox Series X และ Series S เปิดให้พรีออเดอร์เมื่อวันที่ 22 กันยายนที่ผ่านมาและใช้เวลาไม่ถึง 1 วัน ทวิตเตอร์ Xbox ได้ทวีตว่ายอดสั่งจองทั้ง Series X และ Series S ถล่มทลายทำลายสถิติใหม่ และหากใครไม่สามารถจองได้ ให้ลงทะเบียนกับร้านค้าปลีกและรอวันขายจริงที่ 10 พฤศจิกายนนี้
อย่างไรก็ตามด้วยกระแสของ Xbox Series X ทำให้หลายคนเข้าใจผิดและสั่งซื้อ Xbox One X บน Amazon เสียแทนจนทำให้ยอดขาย Xbox One X เพิ่มขึ้นถึง 747%
นอกจากฝั่ง Xbox แล้ว PlayStation 5 ก็เผชิญสถานการณ์เดียวกัน หลังจากเปิดพรีออเดอร์เมื่อสัปดาห์ที่แล้ว โดยแอคเคาท์ PlayStation ทวีตเมื่อวันที่ 20 ที่ผ่านมาขอโทษที่ทำให้เกิดสถานการณ์นี้ขึ้น และยืนยันว่าจะเพิ่มจำนวนเครื่องให้พรีออเดอร์ในอีกไม่กี่วันข้างหน้า
