Joe Belfiore อดีตหัวหน้าทีม Windows Phone (ปัจจุบันเป็นผู้บริหารของทีมระบบปฏิบัติการในภาพรวม) ตอบคำถามแฟนๆ ผ่านทวิตเตอร์ และยอมรับว่าไมโครซอฟท์จะไม่ออกฮาร์ดแวร์ใหม่-ไม่พัฒนาฟีเจอร์ใหม่ให้กับ Windows 10 Mobile แล้ว
Belfiore บอกว่าไมโครซอฟท์จะยังซัพพอร์ต Windows 10 Mobile ต่อไปในแง่การแก้บั๊กและออกแพตช์ความปลอดภัย เขายังยอมรับว่าไมโครซอฟท์พยายามอย่างหนักเพื่อชักจูงนักพัฒนาทำแอพมาลง ถึงขนาดจ่ายเงิน แต่ก็ไม่สำเร็จเพราะปริมาณผู้ใช้น้อยเกินไป
นอกจากนี้ ตัวเขาเองก็ยังไม่ใช้ Windows 10 Mobile อีกแล้ว และนโยบายของไมโครซอฟท์คือสนับสนุน iOS/Android ในการทำงานร่วมกับ Windows บนพีซี
